Hauraki Blue Cruises have taken on-board OceanWeave’s rattan outdoor furniture on their Auckland based prize vessel. Designed for persistent and harsh weather conditions, OceanWeave furniture was the ideal choice for owner and operator Fullers GreatSights New Zealand.
Joining Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour in 2014, Hauraki Blue Cruises offer a variety of cruise experiences ranging from overnight or lunch cruises through to personalised wedding, conference or specials events on this unique floating venue. Ipipiri ,their leading lady, boasts 44.5m in length and spreads over four levels containing a restaurant, bar, 30 cabins with ocean views, conference facilities, kayaking and snorkelling equipment plus a relaxing sundeck with all-round views. She is also proudly New Zealand’s largest permanently based cruising ship.
OceanWeave was approached to supply outdoor rattan lounge furniture that would handle a harsh commercial environment in a boat out at sea. To be featured on the exposed top deck of Ipipiri, it was important the outdoor furniture withstand the sun, rain, sea salt and frequent use aboard the cruise ship. Not only was functionality and durability important, but it was also imperative that the furniture be of fine quality and style to keep with the sentiment of this beautiful cruise ship.
Over thirty pieces of OceanWeave’s rattan lounge furniture feature on the top deck of Hauraki Blue’s cruising ship, including the Paris modular lounge furniture, coffee tables and Venice sun loungers. With quality materials including quick drying marine reticulated foam, Sunbrella fabrics, and RAUCORD weaving material, OceanWeave has been specially designed to last in commercial environments. Managing Director of OceanWeave Michael Pearce enthuses “It’s always exciting to see our furniture in such a variety of locations. Hauraki Blue Cruises offer a unique venue and with the addition of OceanWeave’s style and comfort, relaxing while touring Aucklands beautiful shores just got better.”
